As a retail investor dipping my toes into the stock market, I was drawn to First Trade for its reputation as a user-friendly platform. Little did I know that my experience would also spark my curiosity as a UI/UX designer, leading me to examine not just First Trade but also Futu and Interactive Broker through a design lens. First Trade's relatively simple user flow and app structure make it an ideal case to begin our exploration. By understanding its design choices and business strategy, we can build a foundation for analyzing the more complex features of Futu and Interactive Broker. This analysis not only reflects my journey as an investor but also demonstrates my skills in dissecting user experiences and connecting them to broader business goals. As a retail investor just starting out in the stock market, I was attracted to First Trade because it’s known for being easy to use and its commission free features. After that, I will also use Futu and Interactive Broker to manage my financial portfolio.
